Concerned About a Sleeping Disorder

Are you concerned about a sleeping disorder? There are millions of people that are not getting a healthy night sleep each night. If you are unable to fall asleep or unable to get a deep, relaxing sleep each night, you may be suffering from a sleep disorder. Here are some tips about sleeping disorders.

There are three popular sleeping disorders; insomnia, sleep apnea and narcolepsy. Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep or achieve a restful sleep during the night. You might wake up after two hours of sleep and then go to bed two or three hours later.

Sleep apnea is also a very common sleep disorder. The term sleep apnea is used for people that stop breathing during the night and awake suddenly. Many people stop breathing due to a blockage in their throat or mouth. People that suffer from sleep apnea can stop breathing from five seconds to over a minute. Their bodys reflexes will wake them up during the night each time this happens. Many people with sleep apnea can be woken up five, ten or dozens of times a night.

Narcolepsy is the ability to fall asleep uncontrollably. You can be at the dinner table, at work or even in your car. So if you are concerned about a sleeping disorder, contact your physician for a consultation.
